Xavier is doing its scoring at the rim as well. Marquette must keep going inside and attacking the offensive glass. Xavier needs to keep posting up and cutting off the ball, which is leading to easy baskets.

- Xavier went too much one-on-one for the latter half of the first half. Moving the ball and running offense has led to easier baskets. Marquette's best offense is its defense. Golden Eagles need to get in the middle of the zone, get to the rim and hit some open shots.

- Marquette 38, Xavier 38: Ugly end to the half for both teams. Marquette is overdribbling against the 3-2 zone, Xavier is settling for too many difficult threes. Marquette needs to make this a running game, Xavier needs to run offense and get to the rim, where Marquette has been providing much better resistance.
