Incoming Illinois Fighting Illini men's basketball freshman Quentin Coleman was named the Most Valuable Player of the 10th Allen Iverson Roundball Classic on Saturday night.
Coleman scored 31 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and added 2 steals in nearly 28 minutes of action as his Team Loyalty defeated Team Honor 142-138.
Whether you are or are not a fan of high school basketball all-star games/showcases (put me in the latter camp), take this news for what it's worth. Personally, I have a hard time watching these types of games, no disrespect to Coleman's impressive performance, and failed to tune in last night.
Still, I cannot wait to see Coleman suit up for the Fighting Illini when it really matters this November. I am excited about the potential of this kid along with his fellow freshmen Lucas Morillo, Ethan Brown, Landon Davis and Zavier Zens.
If interested in seeing Coleman in action, here is the full game.
