After recently finishing the list of my 30 favorite Illinois Fighting Illini men's basketball players during my 30-year fandom, I thought it would be interesting to break down these players by positions.
Remember this list began with players on the 1996-1997 Illinois team, the season my fandom for the Fighting Illini really took shape.
Positions have been determined based upon how I viewed each player at Illinois with the following scale:
5 - Center
4- Power Forward
3 - Small Forward
2 - Shooting Guard
1 - Point Guard
With this in mind, here is the breakdown by position, with the power forward spot finishing at the top with 8 of my 30 favorite Illinois men's basketball players of my 30-year fandom.
