High Point Panthers senior guard Rob Martin has entered the portal, hoping to capitalize off his NCAA Tournament success against Wisconsin and Arkansas. Martin will be applying for a waiver for another year of college eligibility, according to ESPN's Jeff Borzello. Only 5'11'', Martin is instant offense and would be a great guy off the bench for an SEC or Big 12 program, granted if a waiver is approved. Of course, Martin is likely looking to start. Could he be another Markquis Nowell of Kansas State, a small guard who went up a level and had success as a scoring guard?
Martin scored 23 points and dished out 10 assists during the Panthers' first round upset of Wisconsin and followed up with 30 points in 35 minutes during a second-round loss to Arkansas. High Point was the closest thing to a Cinderella during the 2026 NCAA Tournament, with Martin being the face of the entertaining Panthers.
